The Baptist Standard in Texas recently wrote about the Center and Witnesses to Hunger as Mariana Chilton spoke at a Hunger Summit at Baylor University. 


An article about members of Witnesses to Hunger going to DC to visit with members of Congress appeared on November 12th on CQ Roll Call.  Below is are excepts from the article.  



In 2008, a group of women from North Philadelphia were given cameras to take pictures and speak out about their firsthand experiences with hunger and poverty for a project known as Witnesses to Hunger. 


On October 17th the state of Pennsylvania kicked off a school breakfast challenge.  All Pennsylvania schools are invited to take part in the challenge, which aims to increase the participate in the School Breakfast Program. 


On November 1, 2013, all SNAP recipients will lose a significant portion of their nutrition supports.  This marks the day that the boost to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, or Food Stamps) created by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 ends.  Forty-seven million Americans rely on SNAP to feed their families – and every single person on SNAP will lose benefits.
